In a renewed push to strengthen institutional effectiveness and improve service delivery across the education sector, the Lagos State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) has been charged to embrace stronger teamwork and proper mandate alignment in line with the State Government’s development blueprint.

The call was made by the Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Office of Transformation, Creativity and Innovation (OTCI), Mrs. Toyin Anjous-Ademuyiwa, during a strategic visit to TESCOM aimed at repositioning the Commission for greater efficiency and impact.

In her address, Mrs. Anjous-Ademuyiwa emphasized the importance of a clearly defined organizational structure and the strengthening of business processes through collaboration. She noted that synergy between leadership and staff is vital to achieving institutional goals and delivering quality outcomes for Lagos residents.

According to her, established procedures must be diligently followed while operations should align with clearly articulated business processes and strategic direction. She further stressed the need for TESCOM to continually review and align its vision and mission with the State Government’s T.H.E.M.E.S+ Agenda, where education stands as a critical pillar for sustainable development.

Highlighting key values required for institutional transformation, the Permanent Secretary identified punctuality, transparency, effectiveness, open-mindedness, passion, and active participation as essential qualities for repositioning TESCOM toward greater achievements.

She encouraged all staff members to take ownership of reform initiatives, contribute meaningfully to change processes, and commit themselves to self-improvement and diligence in the discharge of their duties.

The OTCI delegation was received by the Chairman of TESCOM, Mrs. Victoria Mopelola Peregrino, and the Permanent Secretary, TESCOM, Mr. R. O. Ojikutu, who reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to working collaboratively as one united body with clearly aligned mandates.

They assured the visiting team that TESCOM remains fully committed to supporting the Lagos State Government’s vision, particularly in advancing education as the third pillar of the T.H.E.M.E.S+ Agenda.

The meeting was attended by departmental and unit heads, as well as other members of the Commission’s management team, underscoring a collective resolve to drive reforms that will enhance productivity, accountability, and service excellence in the State’s teaching service.
