The people of Odo-Egiri Kingdom have extended warm and heartfelt congratulations to His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Olufolarin Olukayode Ogunsanwo, the Alara of Ilara Kingdom, on his meritorious appointment as the 6th Chancellor of Lagos State University.

The congratulatory message was conveyed by His Royal Majesty, Oba Musiliu Abiola Oliwo, the Aladepekun of Odo-Egiri Kingdom, on behalf of the entire people of the kingdom.

Kabiyesi described the appointment, graciously conferred by the Governor of Lagos State and Visitor to the University, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, as a testament to the Alara’s distinguished leadership, profound wisdom, and unwavering commitment to educational excellence and societal advancement.

According to the royal message, the elevation of Oba Ogunsanwo to this esteemed academic office brings immense pride not only to Ilara and Odo-Egiri Kingdoms but also to the entire Epe Division. The Aladepekun expressed strong confidence that the new Chancellor’s wealth of experience and visionary leadership would further strengthen the university’s standards, discipline, and overall development.

“As our dear brother and respected monarch assumes this noble responsibility, we are assured that Lagos State University will continue to witness progressive growth and institutional transformation under his watch,” the statement read.

Oba Oliwo also offered prayers for a fruitful and impactful five-year tenure, which commenced on February 13, 2026, wishing the Chancellor divine guidance, enduring wisdom, and remarkable accomplishments throughout his mandate.
