
The Olu Ora of Ora Community in Eredo LCDA, High Chief Peter Oriyomi Ogungbesan, has congratulated His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr) Olufolarin Olukayode Ogunsanwo, the Alara of Ilara Kingdom, on his appointment as the 6th Chancellor of Lagos State University.
In a goodwill message made available to Lagostrend on behalf of the Ora throne and the entire Ora Community, High Chief Ogungbesan characterized the appointment as a fitting acknowledgment of outstanding leadership, remarkable intellectual capacity, and steadfast dedication to education and overall societal progress.
According to the monarch, the elevation of Oba Ogunsanwo to the prestigious academic office is not only a moment of pride for Ilara Kingdom but also a significant milestone for the traditional institution across Lagos State.
“This honour reflects the confidence reposed in our traditional rulers as vital stakeholders in nation-building and champions of educational advancement in our dear state,” he stated.
High Chief Ogungbesan emphasized that the Alara’s wealth of experience, global exposure, and visionary leadership would undoubtedly strengthen academic excellence, institutional growth, and the international standing of Lagos State University. He further noted that the appointment symbolizes a strategic bridge between cherished traditional heritage and modern academic excellence.
The Olu Ora of Ora Community expressed strong optimism that under Oba Ogunsanwo’s chancellorship, LASU would witness enhanced academic achievements, improved institutional development, and increased prestige both nationally and internationally.
He also offered heartfelt prayers for the new Chancellor, asking Almighty God to grant him wisdom, strength, sound health, and divine guidance as he assumes the noble responsibility of steering the university toward greater heights.
