The Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Surah Olayemi Animashaun, graced the Ramadan Lecture hosted by the Distinguished Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Mukail Adetokunbo Abiru, held at the Epe Local Government Secretariat.
The spiritually uplifting gathering attracted respected Islamic scholars, community leaders, political stakeholders, and residents, who came together in an atmosphere filled with reflection, fervent prayers, and renewed dedication to faith, unity, and community service.
In her remarks, Hon. Animashaun emphasized the profound significance of Ramadan as a sacred period marked by self-discipline, compassion, sacrifice, and unwavering devotion to Almighty Allah. She noted that the holy month serves as a reminder of the values that bind communities together — love, tolerance, generosity, and mutual respect.
The Chairman commended Senator Abiru for his unwavering commitment to initiatives that foster unity, strengthen moral values, and drive sustainable development across the Lagos East Senatorial District. She described the Ramadan Lecture as a timely platform for spiritual rejuvenation and collective reflection on the responsibilities of leadership and citizenship.
Hon. Animashaun also offered prayers for sustained peace, progress, and prosperity in Epe and across Lagos State. She encouraged residents to uphold the virtues of harmony, kindness, and cooperation beyond the holy month, stressing that lasting development can only thrive in an atmosphere of unity and shared purpose.
The event further reaffirmed the strong collaboration between elected representatives at both the local and national levels in promoting the welfare and spiritual well-being of the people of Epe.
