Former Governor of Osun State and prominent Nigerian statesman, Rauf Aregbesola, has reiterated the critical role of education in building a prosperous and equitable society, emphasizing that responsible governments must prioritize access to quality education for all citizens.

Speaking on the importance of education as a tool for national development, Aregbesola stated that a government committed to the welfare of its people must continuously strive to ensure that every citizen has access to the best educational opportunities.

According to him, education remains the most valuable inheritance that parents and governments can offer the younger generation. He noted that when individuals are equipped with knowledge and skills through education, they become empowered to contribute meaningfully to society and drive sustainable development.

“A responsible government will always struggle to ensure that all citizens have access to the best. I come to let you know that the greatest legacy you can have from your parents and from any responsible government is education,” Aregbesola said.

The former Minister of Interior further stressed that investing in education strengthens communities, promotes social mobility, and prepares young people to become responsible leaders of tomorrow.

Aregbesola’s remarks have continued to resonate with education advocates and policymakers who believe that strengthening the educational sector is essential for Nigeria’s growth and future prosperity.

He urged leaders at all levels of government to remain committed to policies that expand access to quality education, noting that the future of the nation largely depends on how well it educates and empowers its citizens.
