  • BREAKING NEWS: IGBOGBO/BAIYEKU LCDA MOURNS PASSING OF FORMER COUNCIL MANAGER, OLAKUNLE BAKARE

    The management, legislative arm, and entire workforce of Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) have expressed profound grief over the passing of Mr. Olakunle Bakare, a respected indigene of Igbogbo Kingdom and a distinguished public servant.

    In a statement released on Monday, the Executive Chairman of the council, Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, described the late Bakare as a dedicated administrator whose service and commitment to grassroots governance left an indelible mark on the Lagos State public service.

    Mr. Bakare served meritoriously as the Council Manager of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA and also held key administrative roles across several Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas in Lagos State. Throughout his career, he was widely admired for his professionalism, diligence, and unwavering dedication to public service.

    According to the chairman, Bakare was not only an outstanding civil servant but also a proud son of Igbogbo Kingdom who represented the community with honour and distinction wherever he served.

    “His passing is a monumental loss, not only to his immediate family but also to the entire Igbogbo Kingdom and the Lagos State public service. Mr. Bakare was a shining light whose legacy of excellence, humility, and selfless service will continue to inspire many,” Aroyewun stated.

    The chairman also expressed personal grief over the loss, describing the late administrator as a brother, close family relative, and long-time associate with whom he shared a respectful and enduring relationship.

    On behalf of the government and people of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Aroyewun extended heartfelt condolences to the Bakare family, the Oba and traditional council of Igbogbo Kingdom, the government and people of Amuwo Odofin Local Government, as well as friends, colleagues, and associates of the late public servant across the world.

    He prayed that Almighty God grants the departed eternal rest and gives his loved ones the strength and fortitude to bear the painful loss.

    “Adieu, my brother. Rest in peace, Bakky. Your legacy of service lives on,” the statement concluded.
