The All Progressives Congress (APC) has reaffirmed that the existing zoning arrangement guiding the distribution of National Working Committee (NWC) positions across the country’s geo-political zones will remain in force ahead of its forthcoming 2026 National Convention.

This clarification was contained in the party’s officially released 2026 Schedule of Nationwide Congresses, National Convention, and Related Activities, which outlines the processes and guidelines leading to the highly anticipated convention.

According to the statement, the current zoning structure allocating national offices to specific states within the various geo-political zones remains valid and will serve as the guiding framework for the selection and emergence of new members of the National Working Committee.

The party therefore urged all aspirants seeking national offices to strictly comply with the zoning arrangement while purchasing and submitting their Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms ahead of the convention.

By maintaining the existing zoning framework, the APC aims to sustain internal balance, fairness, and inclusiveness within its leadership structure, ensuring that all regions continue to enjoy equitable representation in the party’s national administration.

The statement, signed by Felix Morka, National Publicity Secretary of the APC, emphasized that aspirants and stakeholders should be strictly guided by the approved zoning formula as preparations intensify for the 2026 National Convention.

Party leaders and members across the country have welcomed the confirmation, describing it as a step that will promote transparency, unity, and orderly participation in the party’s leadership selection process.
