Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to prudent financial management, declaring that his government will adopt the governance model championed by former Anambra State Governor and 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, to reduce the cost of governance.
Speaking on the need for fiscal discipline and efficient use of public resources, Governor Otti stated that his administration is determined to prioritize accountability, transparency, and value-driven leadership.
“We will use Peter Obi’s model in cutting down the cost of governance,” Otti said, emphasizing that reducing unnecessary government expenditure will free up more resources for critical sectors such as infrastructure, healthcare, education, and economic development.
The governor noted that responsible management of public funds remains essential to delivering meaningful development and improving the welfare of Abia residents.
Observers say the move reflects the administration’s resolve to build a lean, efficient, and people-focused government capable of maximizing available resources for sustainable growth across the state.
