An Awujale royal son, Prince Oladapo Oluwatosin Ayodele Osunsanya, has advocated for the Ijebu traditional stool to continue standing as a beacon of cultural pride, economic strength, unity, and modern governance in Ijebuland and beyond.

Prince Osunsanya made this position known in a statement released to the media and made available to The Eagle Online on Friday, where he outlined key values and standards he believes should guide the revered throne of the Awujale of Ijebuland.

According to the Prince, the stool must not only preserve the rich cultural heritage of the Ijebu people but also serve as a catalyst for economic development, youth empowerment, and progressive leadership that aligns tradition with contemporary realities.

Prince Oladapo Osunsanya is of the Tunwase-Oduba Royal Family, tracing his lineage through the Fusenguwa Ruling House—one of the officially recognized ruling houses of Ijebuland. He is also a direct descendant of Awujale Adesimbo Tunwase, further reinforcing his deep-rooted connection to the Ijebu monarchy.
