
Following reports circulating that transportation would not be made available for supporters attending his political declaration scheduled for Saturday, media personality and public figure, Oríyọ̀mí Hamzat, has called for calm and reassured the public that the event will go on peacefully and successfully.
Speaking on the development, Oríyọ̀mí emphasized that he harbours no anger or ill feelings toward anyone and remains focused on ensuring a smooth, orderly, and peaceful gathering.
“I want everyone to calm down. By God’s grace, the event on Saturday will surely hold and it will be a success. I am not angry at anyone,” he said.
While acknowledging reports that supporters may have to trek to the venue due to the absence of transportation, Oríyọ̀mí stressed that the safety of all attendees is paramount. He specifically appealed to security agencies to ensure that no harm comes to anyone making their way to the venue on foot.
“Nothing must happen to my supporters that will be trekking to the venue. I am specially calling on the police and the DSS to ensure the safety of everyone,” he stated.
Oríyọ̀mí further clarified that Saturday’s gathering is not a campaign, but strictly a declaration of intention, urging the public and relevant authorities to see it as such.
“I am not having a campaign; this is just a declaration of intention,” he added.
He concluded by appreciating the resilience and commitment of his supporters, expressing confidence that the event will reflect peace, discipline, and unity.
Members of the public are encouraged to remain calm and conduct themselves responsibly as the declaration holds as scheduled.
