The attention of the leadership and stakeholders of Epe Federal Constituency has been drawn to ongoing discussions regarding the 2027 House of Representatives seat and the continued aspiration of a former Permanent Secretary of Lagos State who has already served three full terms in the National Assembly.
It is important to state clearly that the people of Epe remain grateful for his past service.
After retiring from the Lagos State Civil Service, the people entrusted him with their mandate, and across three terms, he recorded notable performances that cannot be denied or erased.
However, democracy is not only about performance; it is equally about fairness, inclusion, equity, and respect for collective agreements.
The zoning arrangement within Epe Federal Constituency was established to ensure that all segments of our constituency have a sense of belonging and equal opportunity to serve.
Today, the call for a change is not driven by personal bitterness, hatred, or denial of past achievements.
It is driven by the will of the people, the need to respect zoning, and the desire to deepen democratic participation by allowing other qualified sons and daughters of Epe the opportunity to contribute at the national level.
Public office must never become a personal preserve, no matter how well-intentioned or experienced an individual may be.
Leadership thrives when there is renewal, rotation, and deliberate mentoring of new voices.
Prolonged occupancy of a single position, even with good performance, risks weakening internal unity and undermining the spirit of shared ownership of governance.
We therefore respectfully but firmly state that the 2027 House of Representatives seat should rotate in line with the agreed zoning structure.
This position reflects the aspirations of many stakeholders, community leaders, youths, and political actors across Epe Federal Constituency.
Our commitment remains to peace, dialogue, and democratic values.
We call on all stakeholders to put the interest of Epe first, uphold zoning, and work together to build a more inclusive and united political future.

Rt Hon Comrade Fagbodun Oluwadamilare O – CONVENER GENERAL
