Lagostrend report that Hon. Naheem Abiodun Balogun has officially declared his intention to contest the Lagos State governorship election under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), pledging to redefine the political landscape of the state with experience, integrity, and people-centered leadership.
Speaking during his party’s official declaration event held in Epe, Hon. Balogun explained that beginning his political journey from his hometown was both symbolic and deliberate.
“I schooled in Epe, and this is where my story truly began. Before traveling to the United States, I was shaped by the values, struggles, and aspirations of the Lagos people. That is why I chose to start my declaration from my own home,” he said.

The governorship aspirant emphasized that his exposure to governance, leadership, and global best practices abroad has further strengthened his understanding of Lagos politics and governance, positioning him to offer practical solutions to the state’s challenges.
“I understand Lagos politics very well. I understand the people, the system, and what needs to change. With my experience, I am here to change the narrative of politics in Lagos State,” Balogun stated.
Hon. Balogun called on party members, youths, professionals, and residents across the state to come together in unity, stressing that meaningful progress can only be achieved through collective effort.
“This is not about one man. Let us join hands together to make Lagos great again — a Lagos that works for everyone,” he added.
The declaration was met with enthusiasm from ADC supporters and community leaders, who described his ambition as timely and people-driven, expressing optimism about a new direction for governance in Lagos State.
