    The Adesada Oganjugbe Family of Igbooye Kingdom has formally written to the management of GUT FM, Odoajogun, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, seeking a peaceful and professional resolution over an announcement aired on the station’s Gbagede Oro programme on Thursday, January 29 and February 05, 2026.

    In the open letter dated February 08, 2026, the family expressed concern over what it described as an unlawful and erroneous attachment of the title Orijeru of Igbooye Kingdom to Oba Musiliudeen Awoga during a public announcement relating to a scheduled family meeting for land purchasers at Otara, Igbooye.

    According to the family, the announcement—which invited family members and members of the public who purchased land to attend a meeting on February 21, 2026—unexpectedly included a claim that placed the Adesada Oganjugbe Family under the authority of Oba Musiliudeen Awoga. The family stated that this inclusion caused embarrassment and confusion, particularly in view of the fact that GUT FM had only recently, in December 2025, aired multiple announcements celebrating the 1st Coronation Anniversary of His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdulrasaq Akanni Musa, the Orijeru of Igbooye Kingdom.

    The family emphasized that it is not aware of:

    The demise, removal, or replacement of HRM Oba Abdulrasaq Akanni Musa;

    Any government approval or installation of another monarch as Orijeru of Igbooye Kingdom; or

    The possibility of having two reigning kings within the same community.

    Reaffirming its commitment to peace and communal harmony, the Adesada Oganjugbe Family stated clearly that it does not wish to be associated with any action or announcement capable of creating tension, misunderstanding, or crisis within the Igbooye community.

    As a constructive step forward, the family respectfully requested that GUT FM:

    1. Air at least three corrective announcements, on different days and times within one week, clearly removing the disputed attachment;

    2. Forward the announcement clips to the Head of the Family for record purposes; and

    3. Issue a formal letter of apology for the initial broadcast.

    The family further noted that similar unprofessional publications by other media organisations in the past were promptly corrected with public retractions and apology letters, setting a positive precedent for responsible journalism.

    Signed by Mr. Oluwatosin E. Adewunmi, Head of the Adesada Oganjugbe Family, and Mr. Idris A. Salami, General Secretary, the letter concludes with an expression of confidence in GUT FM’s understanding and cooperation, while stressing the family’s preference for amicable resolution over legal action.

    The Adesada Oganjugbe Family reaffirmed its dedication to truth, tradition, and peace, and called on all stakeholders to uphold professionalism and accuracy in public communication for the continued harmony of the Igbooye Kingdom.
