  • DDC Sanni Ojo Pays Courtesy Visit to Lagos Chief Judge, Strengthens Justice–Corrections Collaboration

    In a significant move aimed at strengthening synergy within the justice sector, the Deputy Controller of Corrections (DDC), Sanni Ojo, on Monday, February 9, 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Chief Judge of Lagos State, Hon. Justice Kazeem Olanrewaju Alogba, at the Ikeja High Court, Lagos.

    The visit underscored the commitment of the Nigerian Correctional Service to fostering stronger collaboration with the judiciary in the administration of justice across Lagos State. Discussions during the meeting focused on enhancing cooperation between correctional facilities and the courts, particularly in areas relating to the timely production of inmates for trial, decongestion of custodial centres, and the overall improvement of justice delivery.

    DDC Sanni Ojo commended the Chief Judge for his continuous efforts in promoting reforms within the Lagos judiciary, especially initiatives targeted at ensuring speedy trials and protecting the rights of inmates. He reaffirmed the readiness of the Nigerian Correctional Service to support judicial processes and implement policies that align with global best practices in corrections management.

    Responding, Hon. Justice Kazeem Olanrewaju Alogba appreciated the visit and emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration between the courts and correctional authorities. He noted that effective communication and partnership among justice sector stakeholders remain critical to achieving a more efficient, humane, and responsive justice system.
