LAGOS PDP CARETAKER WORKING COMMITTEE WARNS

Anyone involved in inaugurating illegal Excos for Lagos PDP will be sanctioned
The State Caretaker Working Committee of the Lagos PDP has warned that any attempts by anyone to inaugurate illegal structures for the party in Lagos State shall be sanctioned.
This is coming against the background of a statement currently circulating on the various PDP platforms, inviting leaders to a purported inauguration of a non-existent and illegal party executives for the State, LGA and Ward chapters of the Lagos PDP.
In an e-statement issued on Thursday by the State Chairman of the Lagos PDP Caretaker Working Committee, Elder Kayode Ogunbiyi, the promoters of the illegal inauguration were directed to cancel the exercise and desist from doing anything that can further inflame the fragile peace in the party.
The Chairman also advised the leaders and members of the party to shun the unauthorised event, as it is being organised in clear violation of the Constitution of the party, the subsisting orders of the Federal High Courts and other extant laws of the land.
The invite, tagged “VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE” and e-signed by one Ismail Abiodun, who calls himself the State Secretary-elect, states that a purported inauguration of a non-existent Executive Committees for the State, LGA and the Ward structures of the party comes up tomorrow, Friday 27th of February 2026.
The State Caretaker Working Committee, according to Elder Ogunbiyi, condemns the action as dishonest, deceptive and manipulative, designed only to mislead the unsuspecting members and further distabilise the party.
The statement recalls that since the judgement of the Federal High Court sitting in Ibadan on January 30, 2026, which nullified the illegal November 15 Convention and affirmed the leadership of the Mohammed Abdulraham-led National Caretaker Committee as the authentic leadership of our great party, the recalcitrant promoters of the illegal inauguration were well aware of the fact that no such structures currently exist in the Lagos PDP, either in law or the records of the recognised national leadership of the party.
The State Caretaker Working Committee, being the only lawfully recognised leadership of the Lagos PDP, hereby warns that the purported inauguration should be cancelled immediately as anyone found to engage in such disruptive activity will be sanctioned in accordance with the 2019 Constitution of the PDP (as amended), he said.
He advised the members to key into the processes currently ongoing to put in place new Executive Committees that will soon take over the affairs of the party from the relevant Caretaker Working Committees in the Wards, LGA and the State, ahead of the National Convention slated for March 29 in Abuja.
The National Caretaker Working Committee has already given a timeline for the conduct of new congresses, beginning with the Ward Congress on March 3rd, to the LGA on March 7th while the State Congress will hold on March 14th.
Elder Ogunbiyi warned leaders and members to consider the legal consequences of being misled to follow a road that leads nowhere if they make the avoidable mistake of being listed as an Exco that, ultimately, will have no legal grounds whatsoever to operate in the leadership of the party.
Thanking the teeming members for all their support to the State Caretaker Working Committee, he also assured that the PDP was heading towards a good, strong and prosperous future that all members will be proud of, in Lagos State and the nation at large.
