The Lagos State House of Assembly has officially confirmed Mrs. Adebisi Adelabu as the General Manager of the Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA), reinforcing the state government’s commitment to improving parking regulation and traffic management across Lagos.
The confirmation was announced during plenary presided over by the Speaker of the House, Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, in accordance with Section 92 of the Lagos State Transport Sector Reform Law.
Mrs. Adelabu’s renomination followed months of legislative scrutiny and a comprehensive screening process by lawmakers. During the exercise, members of the Assembly commended her professional competence, administrative experience, and strategic blueprint aimed at strengthening parking regulations while improving operational efficiency across the state.
Lawmakers noted that her vision aligns with the broader transportation reform agenda of the Lagos State Government, particularly in addressing parking challenges, promoting orderliness on roads, and ensuring better compliance with established regulations.
The House approved the confirmation through a voice vote, after which the Clerk of the House was directed to formally communicate the resolution to the state government for necessary implementation.
Mrs. Adelabu’s confirmation is widely seen as a significant step toward enhancing structured parking management in Lagos, as the authority continues to implement policies designed to reduce indiscriminate parking, improve traffic flow, and create a more organized urban transport system.
With her appointment now confirmed, stakeholders expect renewed momentum in the enforcement of parking regulations and the development of innovative parking solutions that will support the growing transportation needs of Africa’s largest city.
