Lagostrend report that In a significant traditional and cultural ceremony, the Executive Chairman of Iba Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Yisa Abiola Jubril, acting under the directive of the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, officially installed His Royal Majesty, Oba Muhammad Taofeeq Saminu Adedeji Toriola Aina (The Otetuwon I) as the Elerin of Igbo Elerin Kingdom in Lagos State.
The historic installation ceremony attracted traditional rulers, government officials, community leaders, political stakeholders, religious leaders, and residents who gathered to witness the formal ascension of the monarch to the revered traditional throne.
Speaking during the ceremony, Hon. Yisa Abiola Jubril reaffirmed the Lagos State Government’s commitment to preserving traditional institutions, promoting peace, and fostering sustainable development across communities. He noted that the installation reflects the government’s continued recognition of the vital role traditional rulers play in maintaining unity, cultural heritage, and grassroots development.
In his acceptance remarks, His Royal Majesty Oba Muhammad Taofeeq Saminu Adedeji Toriola Aina (The Otetuwon I) expressed profound gratitude to the Lagos State Government, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Iba LCDA administration, and the people of Igbo Elerin Kingdom for the confidence reposed in him. He pledged to lead with wisdom, fairness, and dedication while working tirelessly for peace, progress, and the socio-economic advancement of the kingdom.
