It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that I extend my heartfelt condolences to the immediate family, the Elemoro Royal Family, the people of Itedo Iwerekun Kingdom, the traditional institution in Ibeju-Lekki, and all those who had the privilege of knowing and working with our revered royal father, His Royal Majesty, Oba Tajudeen Afolabi Adebanjo Elemoro, the Onitedo of Itedo Iwerekun, on his transition to the great beyond.
The passing of Kabiyesi is not only a painful loss to his family and kingdom, but also a significant loss to the traditional institution and the wider Ibeju-Lekki community. He was a father, a custodian of culture and tradition, a promoter of peace, and a respected voice whose wisdom, dignity and commitment to the welfare of his people earned him admiration and honour.
Throughout his reign and service to his people, Kabiyesi represented the values of responsible traditional leadership, unity and peaceful coexistence. His contributions to the peace, development and progress of Itedo Iwerekun Kingdom will remain a significant part of his enduring legacy.
As Kabiyesi joins his ancestors, we are reminded that although life is transient, a life dedicated to service, honour and positive impact leaves an everlasting footprint. The memories of his leadership, wisdom and fatherly counsel will continue to inspire generations to come.
At this difficult moment, I stand in solidarity with the Elemoro Royal Family, the people of Itedo Iwerekun Kingdom, our esteemed royal fathers in Ibeju-Lekki and beyond, and the entire community as we mourn this great loss.
May the Almighty grant the family, the traditional institution and the people of Itedo Iwerekun Kingdom the strength and fortitude to bear this painful loss. May Kabiyesi’s soul find eternal rest among his ancestors, and may his legacy of peace, dignity and service continue to live on.
Kabiyesi, Sun Re O.
