  • Anti Abiba Mourns Brother, Raises Concern Over Cost of Healthcare in Nigeria

Nigerian content creator Anti Abiba has shared a heartbreaking account of losing her brother after her family could no longer afford the cost of his medical treatment, sparking renewed concerns about access to affordable healthcare in Nigeria.

In an emotional account, Anti Abiba disclosed that her brother died just 48 hours after the family brought him home from the hospital because they had run out of money to continue paying for his treatment.

Recounting the painful experience, the content creator questioned the value placed on human life in the country, expressing concern that financial limitations could determine whether people receive the medical care they desperately need.

“I lost my brother 48 hours after we brought him home from the hospital because we ran out of money to continue his treatment,” she lamented.

She further expressed worry over the situation, stating that survival in Nigeria increasingly appears to depend on an individual’s financial capacity.

“What is the value of human life in this country? Nigeria is becoming a place where your survival depends on how much you have,” she said.

Her emotional account has drawn attention to the difficulties many families face when confronted with expensive medical bills, particularly when prolonged hospital treatment becomes financially overwhelming.

The tragedy also highlights the importance of strengthening Nigeria’s healthcare system, expanding access to affordable medical services, and improving health insurance coverage to ensure that financial hardship does not prevent vulnerable families from seeking necessary treatment.

For many Nigerians, stories like Anti Abiba’s serve as a painful reminder of the burden of healthcare expenses and the urgent need for sustainable solutions that place human life and dignity at the centre of healthcare delivery.

As she grieves the loss of her brother, heartfelt condolences go to Anti Abiba and her family during this difficult period.

May her brother’s soul rest in perfect peace, and may the family find the strength and comfort to bear this painful loss.

Lagosnewsblog wishes the bereaved family comfort and healing during this period of mourning.
