
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed the Governor of Imo State and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma, as Chairman of the Central Coordination Committee for the Party’s 2026 National Convention.
The high-powered committee, made up of 73 members, was constituted by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC as part of strategic preparations toward a successful, credible, and well-coordinated National Convention scheduled for 2026.
In further strengthening the leadership of the committee, the Governor of Kwara State and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), His Excellency, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has been appointed Vice Chairman, while the Governor of Yobe State, His Excellency, Mai Mala Buni, will serve as Secretary of the Committee.
Governor Uzodimma’s appointment reflects his vast political experience, administrative capacity, and commitment to party unity and progressive governance. As Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, he has continued to play a stabilizing and strategic role in advancing the ideals and cohesion of the APC nationwide.
The Central Coordination Committee is tasked with overseeing planning, logistics, stakeholder engagement, and overall coordination to ensure that the 2026 National Convention meets the highest standards expected of a ruling party.
Party leaders and stakeholders have expressed confidence that the committee, under the leadership of Governor Uzodimma and his team, will deliver a seamless and successful convention that further strengthens the APC’s democratic values and internal processes.
