The people of Epe have received encouraging news as sustained advocacy for the restoration of electricity in the division has begun to yield positive results.

Following a formal letter submitted to the Council of Obas and Chiefs, Epe Division, and delivered to the palace of Oba Babatunde Ogunlaja, the Aladeshoyin of Odo-Noforija, decisive actions are now underway to address the lingering power outage affecting Epe communities.

In a major development, Oba Ishola Karudeen Animashaun, the Oloja of Epe Land, has taken a proactive leadership role by formally engaging the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, in collaboration with the Office of the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, with the objective of jointly finding a lasting solution to the electricity challenge in Epe.

According to the Epe People’s Opinion Poll Platform, this high-level intervention reflects the collective commitment of traditional institutions and government stakeholders to restoring stable power supply and accelerating socio-economic development in the area.

Meanwhile, concrete efforts are currently in top gear to repair damaged electricity cables and fast-track the full restoration of power to Epe. Relevant stakeholders are working together to ensure that the restoration process is not only swift but also sustainable.

Speaking on the development, Mr. Femi Segun, Coordinator of the Epe People’s Opinion Poll Platform, expressed appreciation to the Council of Obas and Chiefs and the traditional rulers for their timely intervention, noting that stable electricity is critical to commerce, security, education, healthcare delivery, and overall quality of life in Epe Division.

The Platform, through its Restoration of Epe Electricity Committee, has reiterated its commitment to supporting government and traditional authorities in safeguarding electricity infrastructure and addressing cable vandalism, which has been a major setback to consistent power supply.

The people of Epe remain hopeful that with the continued collaboration of royal fathers, political leaders, and concerned stakeholders, electricity will soon be fully restored, paving the way for renewed economic activities and sustainable development across the division.
