    In a bold stride toward progressive governance and sustainable development, the Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Princess Surah Olayemi Animashaun, has commissioned a series of landmark projects aimed at transforming Epe into a leading destination for tourism, digital innovation, and infrastructural advancement.

    The commissioning ceremony, held at the Council Secretariat in Epe, attracted a distinguished gathering of traditional rulers, political stakeholders, community leaders, and residents. The event underscored a visionary approach that seamlessly blends cultural preservation with modern technological advancement—signaling a new era in Epe’s socio-economic development.

    Preserving Heritage: Launch of Historic Museum Centre

    A major highlight of the event was the unveiling of the Historic Museum Centre, a pioneering initiative dedicated to preserving and showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Epe. The museum features rare and historically significant artifacts, including the statue of Uraka the Great Hunter, the first cannon linked to Ogunmude and his wife Alaro, and documented accounts of Akalajolu alongside other defining historical narratives.

    Speaking at the unveiling, Princess Animashaun emphasized the global significance of the project.
    “This museum is a testament to our identity and history. It serves not only as a preservation hub but also as a platform to project Epe to the global tourism map,” she stated.

    Advancing Digital Inclusion: 24/7 Solar-Powered ICT Centre

    In a forward-looking move to empower the youth and bridge the digital divide, the Chairman also commissioned a state-of-the-art ICT Centre equipped with 24/7 solar power and free public WiFi access. The facility is designed to host digital literacy programs, STEM workshops, and innovation-driven initiatives.

    Highlighting its importance, Princess Animashaun remarked,
    “The future belongs to those equipped with digital skills. This ICT Centre ensures that our young people are not left behind but are prepared to lead in the global digital economy.”

    Strengthening Infrastructure for Growth

    Further reinforcing her administration’s commitment to a people-centered agenda, several key infrastructural projects were also unveiled:

    • Multi-Purpose Hall: A modern facility to host official events and foster community engagement.
    • Local Government Service Housing: Designed to enhance staff welfare while generating sustainable revenue.
    • Enhanced Mobility Assets: Introduction of a new fleet of vehicles, including legislative cars, a staff bus to ease transportation, and a security van to strengthen local safety operations.

    The projects have received widespread commendation from community stakeholders, who lauded the Chairman’s proactive leadership and dedication to impactful governance.
