As the blessed month of Ramadan 2026 begins today, with our Muslim brothers and sisters observing their first Tarawih prayers tonight, and as our Christian faithful also enter the sacred season of Lent, I heartily celebrate all adherents of both great faiths.

Ramadan and Lent are not ordinary periods; they are divine mandates, sacred instructions from Almighty God calling us to fasting, prayer, sacrifice, repentance, and charity.

The Holy Qur’an reminds us:
*_“O you who believe! Fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may become righteous.” _Qur’an 2:183_*

📖 Likewise, the Holy Bible teaches:
*_“Return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.” _Joel 2:12_*

These holy seasons are a testament to God’s command; a spiritual pathway to righteousness, discipline, humility, and deeper communion with our Creator.

I therefore encourage us all, Muslims and Christians alike, to use this sacred period to draw closer to God Almighty, to seek forgiveness, to extend love to the needy, and to embrace peace in our homes, communities, and our dear nation.

Let this be a season where hatred gives way to harmony, where division bows to unity, and where selfishness is replaced with compassion.
May the Almighty Allah accept our fasting, prayers, and supplications.

May the Lord God Almighty grant us strength, renewed faith, and divine favor.
And may He, in His infinite mercy, grant us long life, good health, and abundant grace to witness and observe many more Ramadan and Lenten seasons on earth.
Let us embrace Peace 🕊️, Love 💕 one another, and walk in Righteousness.
