
The Epe Kayokayo Festival Planning Committee has extended warm and heartfelt congratulations to His Royal Majesty, Oba Olufolarin Olukayode Ogunsanwo, the Alara of Ilara Kingdom, Epe, on his historic investiture as the 6th Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU).
In a congratulatory message signed by the Coordinator of the Committee, Barr. Bayo Saliu-Okulu, the royal father’s appointment was described as a well-deserved recognition of his exemplary leadership, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to education and community development.
The investiture ceremony, presided over by the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Lagos House, Ikeja, marked a significant milestone not only for the monarch but also for the people of Ilara Kingdom, Epe Division, and Lagos State at large.
According to the Committee, the elevation of Oba Ogunsanwo to such a prestigious academic and ceremonial role brings immense pride and honour to the Epe community, further reinforcing the kingdom’s growing influence in educational and socio-cultural advancement.

“We join the entire LASU community, the Lagos State Government, and well-wishers across Nigeria in celebrating this remarkable achievement. This appointment is a testament to Kabiesi’s visionary leadership and dedication to societal progress,” the statement read.
The Committee also offered prayers for a successful and impactful tenure, expressing confidence that his reign as Chancellor will usher in a new era of academic excellence, institutional growth, and global recognition for Lagos State University.
“May Almighty God grant Your Royal Majesty wisdom, good health, and divine favour as you undertake this noble responsibility,” the statement concluded.
