HoS: Office Occupied by PFIPC Was Officially Allocated to OSGF as Reps Probe N1.3bn Controversy

The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Esther Walson-Jack, has disclosed that the office space reportedly occupied by the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) at the Federal Secretariat, Abuja, was officially allocated to the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF).
Walson-Jack made the revelation on Monday while testifying before the House of Representatives ad hoc committee investigating the controversy surrounding the PFIPC and the N1.3 billion reportedly allocated to the council in the 2026 Appropriation Act.
According to the Head of Service, the office in question was designated for the OSGF, raising further questions over how the PFIPC came to operate from the location.
The investigation follows claims by the Chief of Staff to the President, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, who on June 11, 2026, stated that the PFIPC was not a recognised government agency. Gbajabiamila also denied knowing Adeniyi Adeyemi, who had presented himself as the Director-General of the council.
Gbajabiamila revealed that his office had petitioned security agencies in October 2025 after forged appointment letters linked to the PFIPC surfaced. He added that Adeyemi was subsequently arraigned before the Federal High Court on charges bordering on forgery, impersonation and obtaining by false pretence.
In response, Adeyemi denied all allegations against him, insisting that he would clear his name through the judicial process. He also called for an independent investigation into the matter.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had earlier directed a full investigation into the allegations to ensure transparency and accountability. As part of the ongoing probe, Adeyemi was arrested, interrogated and later released by security agencies.
The House of Representatives committee is expected to continue its investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the PFIPC, the office allocation, and the reported budgetary provision, with the outcome likely to shape further government action on the matter.
