JAMB Restores CAPS, Urges Institutions to Accelerate 2026/2027 Admissions

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the full restoration of its Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS), following a temporary disruption that affected the platform.

The Board, in a statement issued on Monday, confirmed that CAPS is now fully operational and urged tertiary institutions to intensify their admission activities to recover the time lost and comply with the approved admission timelines.

For the 2026/2027 academic session, JAMB stated that public universities are expected to conclude their admission processes by October 31, 2026, while private universities have until November 30, 2026. Other tertiary institutions are expected to complete their admission exercises by December 31, 2026.

The Board also advised candidates who have received admission offers to promptly accept their offers on CAPS, as this is an important step in securing their admission.

Meanwhile, candidates who were previously awaiting their examination results have been advised to upload or verify their credentials following the release of the 2026 National Examinations Council (NECO) Senior School Certificate Examination results. JAMB said this would ensure that candidates’ credentials are available for consideration as institutions intensify their admission processes.

CAPS serves as JAMB’s electronic platform for coordinating admissions into Nigerian tertiary institutions and enables candidates to monitor and respond to admission offers.

Candidates seeking admission for the 2026/2027 academic session are encouraged to:

• Regularly check their JAMB CAPS for admission updates.
• Check their respective institutions’ admission portals.
• Accept any admission offer promptly once it appears on CAPS.
• Upload or verify their O’Level/NECO results where applicable.
• Ensure that their personal and academic details are correctly reflected on the JAMB platform.
