Anomo Commissions Ultra-Modern NSCDC Headquarters, Pledges More Security Infrastructure in Ikosi-Ejinrin

The Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Dr. Akogun Wale Anomo, has reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to strengthening the security architecture of the council, declaring that the protection of lives and property remains the foremost responsibility of government and a central pillar of his administration’s development agenda.
The declaration was made during the official commissioning and handover of the newly constructed and fully equipped Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Divisional Headquarters in Odo-Ayandelu to the Lagos State Command of the Corps.
The state-of-the-art security facility, fully funded and equipped by the Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, features a modern reception area, quarter-guard section, six spacious offices, secure detention cells, an armoury, convenience facilities, a standby generator, a patrol bus, and an operational motorcycle. The project is designed to enhance the operational efficiency of the Corps while providing officers with a conducive working environment.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Anomo described security and the welfare of citizens as the twin foundations of sustainable development, stressing that no meaningful economic or social progress can thrive without a safe and peaceful environment.
“The primary responsibility of every government, irrespective of its level, is the protection of lives and property as well as the welfare of its people. This is a responsibility I accepted from the very first day I assumed office, and I remain resolute in fulfilling that mandate. We will not relent until Ikosi-Ejinrin becomes one of the safest and most attractive destinations for residents, businesses, and investors in Lagos State,” he stated.

In a further demonstration of his commitment to security, the Chairman announced plans to construct Officers’ Quarters for the newly commissioned NSCDC Division to enable personnel to respond promptly to security challenges on a 24-hour basis.
He also assured residents that the ongoing reconstruction of the Ejinrin Police Post is progressing steadily and will soon be completed and commissioned. Additionally, he disclosed plans to build an Officers’ Quarters at the Agbowa Police Station as part of broader efforts to strengthen security infrastructure across the LCDA.
The event received widespread commendation from stakeholders, with the Lagos State Commandant of the NSCDC, Commandant Adedotun Keshinro, describing the Odo-Ayandelu Divisional Headquarters as the best divisional headquarters currently under the Lagos State Command.
Commandant Keshinro praised the exceptional quality of the project, noting that the facility rivals several higher security formations in terms of construction standards, spacious offices, quality finishing, and operational equipment.
He commended Dr. Anomo for delivering what he described as a complete security package, including a purpose-built headquarters, fully furnished offices, a patrol vehicle, an operational motorcycle, and other essential logistics required for effective security operations.
The State Commandant further assured residents that the Lagos State Command would deploy additional officers and personnel to the division to maximize the use of the facility in improving security across Odo-Ayandelu and neighbouring communities.

Also speaking, the Alayandelu of Odo-Ayandelu, HRM Oba (Builder) Asunmo Ganiyu Aderibigbe (FNIOB), expressed profound appreciation to Dr. Anomo for fulfilling a long-standing aspiration of the community.
The monarch described the project as a landmark achievement, applauding the quality of construction, fittings, and finishing while expressing confidence that the facility would significantly improve security and stimulate socio-economic development within Odo-Ayandelu and its surrounding communities.
Dr. Anomo also acknowledged the invaluable support of the traditional ruler throughout the planning and execution of the project, as well as the cooperation of the Lagos State NSCDC Command, political leaders, stakeholders, and residents of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA.
The commissioning ceremony attracted an array of distinguished personalities, including the Elejinrin of Ejinrin Kingdom, HRM Oba Rafiu Ishola Balogun; the Olowu of Owu-Ikosi, HRM Oba Nelson Obayomi Ogunlari; the Vice Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA; members of the Executive Council; the Leader of the Legislative House, Hon. Hassan Mustapha, councillors, Area Commanders and Divisional Commanders of the NSCDC, leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), members of the Alayandelu-in-Council, market leaders, community stakeholders, and other eminent guests.
Prior to the commissioning, Dr. Anomo conducted a final inspection of the completed headquarters to ensure that every aspect of the facility met the highest standards before its official handover.
