Lagostrend report that the Oniba Ekun of Iba Kingdom, Oba Dr. Sulaimon Adeshina Raji, is set to celebrate his 6th Coronation Anniversary with a week-long programme of cultural festivities, traditional ceremonies, free healthcare services and community empowerment initiatives from Tuesday, December 1, to Monday, December 7, 2026.

The celebration is expected to bring together traditional rulers, chiefs, community leaders, residents, sons and daughters of Iba Kingdom, as well as well-wishers from across Lagos State and beyond, to honour the monarch’s six years on the throne and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the kingdom.

The anniversary programme reflects the importance of preserving indigenous traditions, strengthening community relationships and promoting initiatives that contribute to the welfare and development of the people.

According to the programme released for the celebration, activities will commence on Tuesday, December 1, with the Yewa Festival, an important cultural event expected to showcase the traditional identity and heritage of Iba Kingdom.

On Wednesday, December 2, the celebration will feature Bibo Gbogbo Osa Ilu Iba alongside free health services for members of the community. The combination of traditional observances and healthcare support highlights the significance of community well-being during the anniversary.

Thursday, December 3, has been designated Oba Ayoka Day, while Friday, December 4, will feature the presentation of chieftaincy titles and an empowerment programme. These activities are expected to recognise deserving individuals and encourage greater participation in the development of the kingdom.

The cultural celebration will continue on Saturday, December 5, with Iyawo Ilu Iba Day, followed by Bibo Ade on Sunday, December 6, as part of the traditional activities marking the monarch’s sixth coronation anniversary.

The week-long celebration will reach its grand finale on Monday, December 7, with Legbe-Legbe Day. All Legbe-Legbe groups are expected to participate, with 10 representatives from each group joining in the celebration and paying homage to the Oniba Ekun of Iba Kingdom.
