Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Wednesday received Mohamed Malick Fall, the United Nations Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Nigeria, at Lagos House, Marina, in a strategic meeting focused on advancing humanitarian response and sustainable development across the state.
The high-level engagement provided an opportunity for both leaders to discuss collaborative approaches to tackling pressing humanitarian and development challenges affecting vulnerable communities in Lagos.
Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized his administration’s commitment to inclusive growth, social protection, and sustainable urban development, noting that partnerships with global institutions such as the United Nations are vital to delivering meaningful impact at the grassroots level.
“We are committed to ensuring that every community in Lagos receives the support that matters most. Strengthening our collaboration with the United Nations will enhance our capacity to respond effectively to humanitarian needs while driving long-term development goals,” the Governor stated.

Mr. Fall commended the Lagos State Government for its proactive governance model and reaffirmed the United Nations’ readiness to deepen cooperation with the state in key areas including social intervention, climate resilience, youth empowerment, health, and economic inclusion.
Both parties agreed to explore innovative frameworks that will align humanitarian efforts with sustainable development strategies, ensuring that no community is left behind.
The meeting underscores Lagos State’s position as a leading sub-national government committed to global partnerships, people-centered policies, and resilient development.
