Ogungbo Temitope Sofwan, has reaffirmed his commitment to environmental sustainability and effective service delivery, pledging to work diligently towards building a cleaner and healthier community.
Hon. Sofwan made this commitment shortly after his official swearing-in, describing his appointment as both an honour and a call to greater responsibility in contributing to the development and environmental transformation of the local government area.
In his acceptance and appreciation message, the Supervisor expressed deep gratitude to the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, as well as the Deputy Governor and members of the State Executive Council for providing visionary leadership and a governance model that continues to inspire progress across the state.
He also extended heartfelt appreciation to the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, for the confidence reposed in him through his appointment into the local government executive cabinet.
According to Hon. Sofwan, the appointment represents more than political recognition, noting that it is a sacred responsibility to support the Chairman’s vision of building a sustainable and climate-resilient Ibeju-Lekki.
“This is not just an appointment; it is a sacred trust. I pledge my absolute loyalty and dedication to working tirelessly to support the administration’s goals of building a cleaner, greener, and healthier Ibeju-Lekki Local Government,” he stated.
The new Supervisor also acknowledged the immense support from party stakeholders and traditional rulers within the local government area, praising their continuous guidance and commitment to the progressive ideals that foster development and unity in the community.
Hon. Sofwan further appreciated the people of Ibeju-Lekki, alongside family members, friends, and associates who celebrated and supported his emergence into public office.
Special recognition was given to members of the education community, including headteachers under the Association of Primary School Head Teachers of Nigeria (AOPTSN), school principals, and both academic and non-academic staff across various schools and tertiary institutions within the area.
He also expressed gratitude to several student and youth organizations for their solidarity and encouragement, including the National Association of Ibeju-Lekki Students (NAILS), the National Union of Lagos State Students (NULASS), the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), and the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN).
According to him, the overwhelming show of support through prayers, goodwill messages, and words of encouragement has further strengthened his resolve to deliver effectively in his new capacity.
“As someone deeply passionate about education and youth development through my OTS Foundation, I firmly believe that education remains the roadmap to success. I will continue to support initiatives that empower young people while also championing environmental sustainability across our communities,” he added.
Reaffirming his dedication to public service, Hon. Sofwan assured residents that his office will prioritize improved environmental sanitation, promote responsible waste management practices, and implement policies aimed at enhancing the health and well-being of residents across the local government.
He concluded by calling for continued cooperation and collective support from residents, stakeholders, and youth groups in building a cleaner, healthier, and more environmentally sustainable Ibeju-Lekki.
