WHO DELIVERED, WHO FELL SHORT? LAGOSTREND TO UNVEIL LAGOS’ 57 COUNCIL CHAIRMEN ONE-YEAR PERFORMANCE RANKING ON JULY 30

The report, which is the outcome of an extensive year-long assessment, seeks to provide Lagos residents with an independent and objective evaluation of the performance of all Local Government and Local Council Development Area (LCDA) Chairmen across the state.

As part of its watchdog role in strengthening democratic governance, Lagostrend embarked on a comprehensive review of council administrations to determine how effectively they have fulfilled their responsibilities and delivered meaningful development to their respective communities since assuming office.

The assessment focuses on critical sectors that directly impact the quality of life of residents, including:

Rather, it aims to provide factual insights into the performance of grassroots leaders while encouraging excellence, innovation, transparency, and accountability in local governance.

For the past twelve months, Lagostrend’s editorial and research team has closely monitored projects, policies, programmes, and interventions implemented across the 57 councils. The review examines the impact of these initiatives on communities, the responsiveness of council administrations to public concerns, and the extent to which campaign promises and development agendas have been translated into tangible results.

The initiative is expected to establish a new benchmark for performance evaluation and accountability within local government administration in Lagos State.
