Lagostrend Media, a leading digital news and public affairs platform committed to promoting transparency, accountability, and good governance, has announced plans to release its much-anticipated Lagos 57 Council Chairmen One-Year Performance Ranking Report on July 30, 2026.
The report, which is the outcome of an extensive year-long assessment, seeks to provide Lagos residents with an independent and objective evaluation of the performance of all Local Government and Local Council Development Area (LCDA) Chairmen across the state.
As part of its watchdog role in strengthening democratic governance, Lagostrend embarked on a comprehensive review of council administrations to determine how effectively they have fulfilled their responsibilities and delivered meaningful development to their respective communities since assuming office.
The assessment focuses on critical sectors that directly impact the quality of life of residents, including:
– Infrastructure Development – Education – Environmental Sanitation – Youth and Women Empowerment Programmes – Healthcare Delivery – Workers’ Welfare – Accessibility and Engagement with Residents – Action Rate and Responsiveness to Public Matters
According to the management of Lagostrend Media, the ranking exercise is not intended to attack, undermine, or promote any council chairman. Rather, it aims to provide factual insights into the performance of grassroots leaders while encouraging excellence, innovation, transparency, and accountability in local governance.
For the past twelve months, Lagostrend’s editorial and research team has closely monitored projects, policies, programmes, and interventions implemented across the 57 councils. The review examines the impact of these initiatives on communities, the responsiveness of council administrations to public concerns, and the extent to which campaign promises and development agendas have been translated into tangible results.
The forthcoming report will spotlight outstanding performers who have demonstrated commitment to service delivery and community development. It will also identify areas where improvements are needed, providing stakeholders with a comprehensive overview of grassroots governance in Lagos State.
Beyond ranking performance, the report is expected to stimulate constructive discussions on leadership effectiveness, resource management, citizen engagement, and sustainable development at the local government level.
As the countdown to July 30 begins, residents, traditional rulers, community leaders, market associations, youth groups, political stakeholders, civil society organizations, development experts, and members of the media are encouraged to follow the release closely. The initiative is expected to establish a new benchmark for performance evaluation and accountability within local government administration in Lagos State.
To ensure fairness, inclusiveness, and balanced reporting, Lagostrend is also inviting members of the public to contribute evidence of notable achievements by their council chairmen during the past year. Residents who believe their local government administration has performed exceptionally well are encouraged to submit photographs, videos, reports, and other verifiable records of completed projects and impactful initiatives.
