Hon. Olowa Reaffirms Commitment to Youth Inclusion, Empowers Ibeju-Lekki Youths for Active Governance

In a proactive step towards fostering inclusive governance and strengthening youth engagement, Hon. Hakeem Oluwole Balogun, Supervisor for Youths and Sports Development in Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area, convened a strategic meeting with youth representatives from across the council.

The interactive session created a vibrant platform for open dialogue, enabling young people to voice their concerns, share innovative ideas, and express their aspirations directly to the leadership. The meeting underscored the administration’s dedication to participatory governance and youth-centered development.

Representing the Executive Chairman, Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, Hon. Balogun reaffirmed the Chairman’s steadfast commitment to empowering youths and positioning them as key drivers of sustainable development within Ibeju-Lekki. He highlighted ongoing and upcoming initiatives tailored to harness the creativity, energy, and potential of young people through impactful and targeted programmes.

Speaking passionately, Hon. Balogun emphasized that the Olowa-led administration recognizes youths as indispensable partners in governance and community transformation. He assured attendees that deliberate efforts are being made to create opportunities that will enhance their growth, productivity, and civic participation.

In a call to action, Hon. Balogun urged youth leaders to take responsibility in mobilizing their peers to obtain their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs). He stressed that active participation in the electoral process remains a vital tool for shaping leadership and ensuring that the voices of young people are heard in decision-making processes.
